Sustainable Venture Capital

Potentiacta understands how important it is for venture investors to see clearly what business a startup does, what happens in it today, and what should happen as it pursues its mission. It is even more important to see the source of revenue and the key metrics it depends on.

1The business model

Potentiacta has a very simple business model: it generates verified outcome units from consumption expenditure baskets by users and the external operations that serve them, measures them with the Leontief input-output model, has them verified by the Oracle, and offers them to arrangers and issuers of social bonds at US$1 per unit, or accepts their bids for verified outcome units for a term.

  1. Generateoutcome units from users’ consumption expenditure baskets
  2. MeasureΔx with the Leontief input-output model
  3. Verifyby the Oracle
  4. Bidto arrangers and issuers of social bonds
Revenue and the metrics it depends on Revenue = Price = Δx

Δx includes Δf: it is Δf itself plus the output that Δf causes along supply chains. Δf is the change in total final demand relative to the baseline scenario, the economy without Potentiacta’s spending: Δf = Δf_basket + Δf_operations. Δf_basket is Potentiacta’s verified spending on the sustainable goods and services in every user’s basket, provided through non-repayable basket credits. Δf_operations is Potentiacta’s verified external spending on serving the baskets: verification, licenses and services, research and development including data, and real-time data verification. The salaries of Potentiacta’s team, taxes, interest, depreciation and capital purchases are not part of Δf. Δx is the modeled change in gross output by sector required to meet Δf, with all direct and indirect links along supply chains (the Leontief model); the Oracle verifies its inputs and calculation. The multiplier m is the effect of Δf on Δx. One verified outcome unit is US$1 of Δx.

Buyers pay US$1 per verified outcome unit, so Potentiacta receives Δx. RIL, Reinvestable Impact Liquidity, is the part of Δx above Δf: RIL = Δx − Δf. Potentiacta takes all of its own value added, including its team, taxes and margin, from RIL, at a norm of 30% of RIL, and invests the remaining 70% in growing Δf.

The numbers

2026 is shown in two parts: to 20 Oct 2026, the today row (snapshot), and the rest of the year, the 2026 row (plan); each row adds up.

† Every valuation after today’s is arithmetic on Potentiacta’s targets: 2.21 × the Δx planned for the next twelve months, if the plan is met, not brought back to today and not weighted for the chance that the plan is missed (venture investors report that fewer than 30% of their companies meet their projections, 26% at early stage: Gompers et al., NBER Working Paper 22587). The 2027 row exceeds the median pre-money valuation of a US Series B round, $187.0M, and the 2028 row that of a Series D+ round, $1,723.7M; from the 2029 row each value is more than ten times the Series D+ median (2026 to 30 September; PitchBook-NVCA Venture Monitor, Q3 2026), so the market cannot check it. The 2036 row has no next year in the plan to value.

How the numbers are calculated

How Potentiacta is valued →

The plan grows users evenly, in percentage terms, to each year’s target and counts Δf as their baskets plus the operations that serve them; Δx = Δf × 1.81, the plan’s multiplier (23 Oct 2026), which is how Potentiacta calculates its plan (Verified Outcome Units Target), not the methodology’s Δx = (I − A)−1Δf; Potentiacta’s value added is 30% of RIL = Δx − Δf; and its price is US$35M today, the median seed SAFE cap, and its value on 1 January of each later year, if the plan is met, 2.21 × the Δx planned for that year, shown at no less than US$35M.

Show the detailsHide the details
  • Users grow evenly, in percentage terms, during each year and reach the stated number on 1 January of the next year: 21 users with a $3,600 basket to 30 November 2026, then 100 users with a $10K basket from 1 December; 100 users to mid-May 2027, then growth to 1,000 by 1 January 2028.
  • Δf_basket = users × Δf_basket per user a year.
  • Δf_operations a month = $500 · N + R&D(N) + RTV(N) for N users:
    • $200 a month per user: verification.
    • $300 a month per user: licenses and services.
    • R&D, including data: $1,000 a month per user up to 100 users; above 100 users, $100,000 × (N ÷ 100)0.3 a month for the platform.
    • Real-time data verification (RTV): $700 a day up to 100 users; above 100 users, $21,300 × (N ÷ 100)0.3 a month.
R&D and real-time verification serve the whole platform: they grow with data and load, but far slower than users, doubling with every tenfold increase in users. This is an assumption, checked each quarter against the actual Δf_operations verified by the Oracle. Share = Δf_operations ÷ Δf_basket.
  • Δf = Δf_basket + Δf_operations. 2026 is shown in two parts, and each row adds up: today’s row, the figures to date (the platform’s live figures, with their date), and the 2026 row, the rest of the year after the figures’ date (plan), with Δf = Δf_basket + Δf_operations and Δx the target’s 2026 Δx less the $1,123,304.25 the plan counted to 20 October 2026 (the snapshot, with Δf $619,665.69). On the snapshot the two make the target’s 2026. With the live figures, the 2026 row is the plan for the days left: the plan’s days from the day after the figures’ date to 31 Dec added up, each day its month’s figure ÷ the month’s days; December runs at 100 users, so its days weigh more than October’s and November’s.
  • Δx = Δf × 1.81, the plan’s multiplier (23 Oct 2026): this is how Potentiacta calculates its plan (Verified Outcome Units Target), not the methodology’s Δx, which is Δx = (I − A)−1Δf.
  • Potentiacta value added = 30% of RIL, where RIL = Δx − Δf; the other 70% is invested in growing Δf.
  • Return on Δf (company) = RIL ÷ Δf: what each dollar of Δf returns above itself, 81% at ×1.81, before Potentiacta’s own team, taxes and margin, which come out of RIL. It is the company’s return, not the investor’s: the investor’s return is the MOIC and IRR of the SAFE at the recommended exit, under the ask.
  • Potentiacta valuation: today, US$35M post-money, the seed price: the median valuation cap of seed SAFEs (AngelList, Q3 2026; Carta, Q2 2026, for SAFEs above $2.5M), in a range of about US$22.7M–40M across the market’s seed medians; a cap is a price for a share of the company, not an appraisal of it. On 1 January of each later year, if the plan is met, 2.21 × the Δx planned for that year: the EV/Sales of the US companies Damodaran groups as information services (January 2026; 1.77–3.46 across the peers and a private company’s 20% less), an enterprise value, applied to the plan’s next twelve months, the page’s convention, not brought back to today and not weighted for the chance that the plan is missed, and shown at no less than US$35M (the 2026 row). The month table under the ask values each month’s end the same way, on the next twelve months.

3How Potentiacta offers verified outcome units

There are two ways to acquire Potentiacta verified outcome units:

Ask • Fulfilling a term order

An arranger or issuer of social bonds orders verified outcome units for a term.

Bid • Offering a ready package

Potentiacta offers a ready package of verified outcome units.

Every package is transferred with outcome units verified by the Oracle and registered on Potentiacta Standard; the keys and tokens go to the buyer.

4What the market needs

Potentiacta continuously studies the needs of the Sustainable & ESG capital market, paying particular attention to the pains of the social bond segment, and compares them with its goals for generating verified outcome units.

Pains of the social bond segment

  • “Impact” has no clear definition, and issuers have little impact data to offer as evidence; investors want to know more than where the proceeds go. Euromoney
  • Social impact is hard to aggregate and compare across projects; obtaining clear, granular data can be a significant barrier for investors. BNP Paribas AM
  • Lack of product transparency and social washing are among the main reasons investors hold back. Goldman Sachs AM survey, via Euromoney
  • Washing is penalized: DWS paid €25 million to Frankfurt prosecutors in April 2025 for greenwashing, after a $19 million SEC fine in 2023. ESG Dive
  • Since 21 May 2025, an EU fund that uses ESG terms in its name needs at least 80% of its investments to meet them. ESMA guidelines, via FMA Austria

Potentiacta’s goals against the market

Minimum output = planned Δf × 1.63, the lowest multiplier measured on 23 Oct 2026: this is how Potentiacta calculates its plan; planned Δf: Potentiacta · Verified Outcome Units Target · 23 Oct 2026. Δx at the plan’s multiplier ×1.81 (23 Oct 2026) is in The numbers. 2026 shows Δx to date. Log scale. Targets, not forecasts.

The market needs verified outcome units. Investors and regulators ask for evidence of impact, not only for where the proceeds go. Every unit Potentiacta sells is Δx measured and verified by the Oracle, which removes the risk of greenwashing, social washing and other forms of washing.

Through 2028, Potentiacta’s minimum output is about 0.1% of one year of social bond issuance. In 2030 it is about 7% of 2025 issuance. The 2036 floor of $1.31T is about 1.3 times all GSS+ debt issued in 2025, so it relies on the market for verified outcomes growing beyond today’s sustainable bond market.

The market faces new challenges: new technologies cut jobs and change the labor market completely. This raises the question of how to sustain consumption regardless of households’ current incomes and savings, and leads to the conclusion that demand for social bonds aimed at growing wellbeing and sustainable consumption, with their environmental impact compensated, will rise as their supply grows.

5The basket for 2027

To reach its nearest goal in 2027, Potentiacta has built a basket of 33 categories of goods, with an algorithm through which users receive special credits as the output effect of their previous purchase. Verified users make purchases at their own expense or with the credits Potentiacta accrues to them in the No Poverty and Sustainable City programs. Either way, users receive credits with a recommendation to spend them on the set categories of goods and services.

In 2027 the basket weights are set at 64%, or $6,400 a year, for goods and 36%, or $3,600 a year, for services: digital productivity services on the Potentiacta platform. Today’s basket is above this planned minimum, and that is not a problem: a basket may go beyond the planned minimum. Baskets are matched to each user’s personal values, so the weights differ from user to user; averaged over all users and over the planned period, they stay within the planned values.

6The goal for 2027

Potentiacta’s goal from now till 1 January 2028: the plan starts from 21 users with a $3,600 basket (figures of 20 Oct 2026), steps to 100 users on 1 December 2026 and reaches 1,000 users on 1 January 2028. The charts show the plan month by month, by the rules of The numbers.

Revenue is the plan’s Δx at the plan’s multiplier ×1.81 (23 Oct 2026) — a value Potentiacta calculates for its plan, not the methodology’s formula for Δx: the effect of Δf on Δx, 1.81 at package level, with a minimum of 1.63 and a maximum of 2.51 in the plan’s figures of 20 October 2026. Each bar is the revenue accumulated by the month’s end: Δf, all the costs of the baskets and operations, and above it RIL = Δx − Δf, 70% of it invested in growing Δf and 30% Potentiacta’s value added. Return on Δf (company) = RIL ÷ Δf: what each dollar of Δf returns above itself, 81% at ×1.81, before Potentiacta’s own team, taxes and margin, which come out of RIL; not an operating margin or a return on capital. It is the company’s return, not the investor’s: the investor’s is the MOIC and IRR of the SAFE, under the ask.

How the plan moves. The plan starts from 21 users with a $3,600 basket (figures of 20 Oct 2026) and holds them until 30 November 2026; on 1 December it moves to 100 users with a $10K basket. The 100 hold their baskets until mid-May 2027; from 15 May the number of users grows evenly, in percentage terms, to 1,000 on 1 January 2028. Cumulative Δf climbs steadily until mid-May and steeply after it, as users grow; revenue climbs with it, 1.81 times Δf, as Potentiacta calculates its plan.

How it is calculated. Month by month, Δf_basket = users × their basket, and Δf_operations = $500 · N + R&D(N) + RTV(N), the rule under The numbers. Real-time verification, and R&D above 100 users, serve the whole platform and grow far slower than users, so operations exceed the baskets while users are few: 264% of the baskets in the rest of 2026 and 125% in 2027. Revenue Δx = Δf × 1.81, which is how Potentiacta calculates its plan (Verified Outcome Units Target), not the methodology’s Δx = (I − A)−1Δf; RIL = Δx − Δf; Potentiacta’s value added is 30% of RIL; the return on Δf (company) = RIL ÷ Δf. The months add up to the target’s totals for the rest of 2026 and for 2027.

The basket and the processing that accrues and writes off credits are ready to use. During Q4 2026 they will be configured for 100 users in the selected categories.

The ask is one sum from venture investors: it covers the baskets and the operations that serve them, Δf, from now till 1 January 2028, so that Potentiacta accumulates revenue, reaches its targets and earns its planned value added. Everything goes into a post-money SAFE, Y Combinator’s standard form, with a US$35M valuation cap: your share of Potentiacta is your funds ÷ US$35M, and it converts at the next priced round, in Q3 2027, at the lower of the cap and the round’s price.
